FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Movie In Developement, Aiming To Shoot In 2012

Speaking at the Television Critics Association promoting the new NBC series PRIME SUSPECT, executive producer Peter Berg confirmed that a new movie version of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is currently in development.

Berg said that they are going to try and start production next year and that a script is already being written.

The film would bring back the cast of series, including Emmy-nominees Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.

The show, and movie it was based on, centered on a football team in a small Texas town. The show ran for five seasons, but finished its run in February on DirecTV and in reruns this summer on NBC.

Said Berg about the project, "We're very serious about trying to do it."
