Grilled Cheesus: What Did You Think of GLEE?

Tonight's episode of GLEE, titled "Grilled Cheesus," tackled the subject of spirituality. There were takes from all sides of the religious spectrum. I don't want to spoil it for the West Coasters, but I personally enjoyed having some religion added to my soap. This is another area of diversity that daytime has mostly forgotten.

But what did you think? Let us know in the Comments section. Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched yet.

  1. I really enjoyed the episode. While I know it'll stir a whole plethora of opinions, I like how it tackled all different views of the spectrum.

  2. I think they presented things pretty even handedly. And these are teenagers who are still figuring this type of stuff out and it seemed realistic to me.

Loved Sue and her sister again. Have to admit I cried when she asked Sue if she wanted her to pray for her.

  3. I always love seeing Sue and her sister, because we get to see the softer side of Sue. It got to me also when Sue's sister asked Sue if she wanted to pray for her.

It was a very realistic episode and finally one I really liked and was touched by.

  5. It was a great episode. Kurt made me tear up nearly every time he was on camera. Sue and her sister made me totally cry. I realize that I hate Rachel more than ever. I was confused because I thought Finn and his mom moved in. Did Mr. Hummel actually kick out Finn (and the mama) after "F*g-Gate?"

  6. Mellow Yellow, I thought the same thing. I thought once Kurt and Finn patched things up, they would all live together again. I guess when Burt told Finn he couldn't live in his house because he talked to Kurt the way he did, that was the end of the living situation.

  7. After last week's disjointed episode (great videos, scattered plot & dialog), this week was much more cohesive and one of the best written episodes.
Definitely a three-Kleenex episode. Mercedes's version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was a highlight - and with powerful songs by Puck & Finn & Kurt, that's saying something.
I only wished the Loch Lima Monster reared up out of that lake and snarfed up Yentl - er, I mean Rachel.

  8. As much as I love the show, this was probably my least favorite of the series. While the scenes with Kurt and his father certainly had emotional impact, as an atheist, I really disliked the way characters like Kurt, who don't believe in god, are treated as outsiders; like they lack something in their lives. Or we have characters like Sue, who might have believed had things Not Gone Badly in her life. They did try to keep things even-handed, and I was very happy that despite everyone's efforts, Kurt stood true to his convictions, but I still feel as if the episode had an agenda, and for the most part, I felt angry and uncomfortable while watching it.
