Kevin McCarthy dies at 96
McCarthy, the actor best known as the star of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the classic 1956 science-fiction film about humans taken over by giant seed pods from outer space, has died at age 96. He died yesterday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Soap fans will remember him for his role as Claude Weldon on FLAMINGO ROAD in the early 1980s. He also appeared on both DYNASTY and THE COLBYS (as different characters).
AS THE WORLD TURNS star Michael Park to be honored
The annual Break a Leg! sneak peek at this year's Rochester theater season will honor Emmy winner and Canandaigua native Michael Park. The event will take place Monday at 7 p.m. at the German House Theater, 315 Gregory St., and will include a tribute to Park, several songs performed by Park and then a preview of the coming season from area theater groups.

Does anyone remember "Flamingo Road"? That's the night time soap I remember Kevin McCarthy from...along with Mark Harmon, Morgan Fairchild, Howard Duff, Barbara Rush and Stella Stevens. It was just filled with OTT goodness.
