In early 1960, the king and queen of AS THE WORLD TURNS, Don MacLaughlin and Helen Wagner cut a "1000th episode" anniversary cake with John Larkin and Teal Ames, who played Mike and Sara Karr, the leading characters on THE EDGE OF NIGHT, which premiered on the same day as ATWT on April 2, 1956.
