The 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company proudly presents Keith Bunin’s "The Busy World is Hushed," opening Saturday, October 2 and running through Sunday, October 17th. Hannah, an Episcopal minister and theological scholar, finds her faith at odds with that of Thomas, her estranged, wayward son. When an inquisitive young writer hired to assist Hannah with her latest publication learns painful family secrets from their past, Brandt becomes the catalyst Hannah hopes will provide a reconciliation with her son. With wisdom, humor, and insight "The Busy World is Hushed" examines the contradictions we find in our faith, our families, and ourselves.
"The Busy World is Hushed" is directed by Crystal Craft ("The Boys Next Door," "Bent," "Eyes for Consuela" & "Danny and The Deep Blue Sea"). The play is starring GENERAL HOSPITAL's Jason Thompson, Carolyn Hennesy and Nathan Parsons.
"The Busy World is Hushed" is produced by The 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Ronnie Marmo. Previous productions include the critically acclaimed first ever “13 by Shanley Festival” which enjoyed a six-month run last year, and "Bill W. and Dr. Bob," which has enjoyed 350+ sold out performances in the past 9 years. Also notable are, "West of Brooklyn," "Lovers and Other Strangers" (40th Anniversary production), "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot," "The Boys Next Door," "Bent," and "Eyes for Consuela." Ronnie was nominated as a
producer by the NAACP Awards for the productions of "The Knights of Mary Phagan" and "Subway Series." Ronnie currently appears on ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL as Ronnie Dimestico.
"The Busy World is Hushed" runs Saturdays Oct 2, 9 & 16 at 3 p.m. & 8 p.m. Sunday 2, 10, 17 at 6 p.m. Theatre 68, a beautiful, air conditioned and spacious venue with 99 seats and free rooftop parking. Theatre 68 is located at 5419 West Sunset Blvd., just east of Western in Hollywood.
