NEWS: Damon L. Jacobs, Be A FNL Extra, Slezak on Y&R, Britton

Tuesday Talent: Damon Jacobs
Column of Life named the incomparable Mr. Jacobs as their "Tuesday Talent" pick this week. Excellent choice.

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Slezak will appear on Y&R
Slezak will be guest-starring on July 12′s episode of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. If you are an AMERICAN IDOL fan, you probably watch his hilarious weekly video segments on the show during the season.

Extras needed for FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS finale at Cotton Bowl
FNL will be filming its final episode in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park. You can be an extra during the filming of this season's final episode and you'll be helping DFW Wildlife Coalition's programs to reduce, through public outreach and education, the incidence of orphaned or euthanized native wildlife in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Britton on Emmy nod: 'There must be some mistake'
"Because our show is such a little engine that could, and because we always seem to rise again from the ashes in the eleventh hour, I had a brief moment of 'Oh, maybe [the Emmy love] means our show isn’t going to get canceled?' But I believe [season 5] is it. I really do. I think this is it, and certainly the last couple of episodes are being shot like it will be the end of the show."

Writers Guild Says Merged Media Could Fund Public TV
It also advised it against allowing more consolidation of operations or ownership of news media outlets--like local TV stations--and wants the FCC to start thinking about concentration of power in multichannel video distribution by companies that are also Internet Service Providers.

INTERVIEW: THE GATES star Victoria Platt
On husband Terrell Tilford: "We deal with our own schedules in a way. He’s on ONE LIFE TO LIVE so he’s working and I’m away a lot. So there’s a lot of compromise on both sides. We sort of meet in the middle sometimes. (laughs) I’m in New York now to spend time with him but I have to go back to shoot for THE GATES."

Performance artist Kalup Linzy to apppear on GENERAL HOSPITAL
After his initial appearances on the show early next week, Linzy will appear later again later this month as his character assists Franco's character with a planned art exhibit. Those scenes, which will air the week of July 19, were taped on-location at the Museum of Contemporary Art in West Hollywood, Calif. An on-location shoot is a rarity for the show, the spokesman said.
