Straight off of his National Tour of the hit musical "Mamma Mia!," Matthew Ashford, best known to daytime for his roles as Jack Deveraux on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Cagney McCleary on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, and Tom Hardy on GENERAL HOSPITAL, joins the cast of THE BAY in Chapter 6 of the series. The five-time Soap Opera Digest Award winning actor will be playing Sara Garrett's (Mary Beth Evans) prisoned rapist, Steve Jensen, who also happens to be the father of her oldest child Brian Nelson.

Interesting that Matthew Ashford plays the part of Mary Beth Evans' character's rapist. Matthew's Jack raped Mary Beth's Kayla when they were both on DOOL
