NEWS: ABC, Betsy Franco, GLEE, Schulenberg, Reckell

ABC soaps continued to rule the ratings in New York City during May sweeps
From 1-4 p.m., ABC’s soaps ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and GENERAL HOSPITAL lead the market in Households and Women 25-54.

ATWT's Marnie Schulenberg to star in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in July
Award winning theatre company On the Square Productions (a 501(c)3 under Fractured Atlas) presents Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" which will be presented in a private Astoria garden/greenspace located on 44th St between Broadway and 31st Ave in Astoria, NY.

INTERVIEW: 20th Century Fox chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman
Walden: "I think GLEE has enormous upside. I think it has the potential-I don't want to say to replace AMERICAN IDOL, because nothing can replace Idol-but in terms of being the top-rated show, I do think this show has the potential to grow to those kinds of heights."

James Franco's mother will also appear on GENERAL HOSPITAL
When James Franco brings twisted artist Franco back to GH this summer, his real-life mother will join him! A rep for the soap confirms that Betsy Franco will begin a short-term role on Friday, July 2, when Spinelli tracks down the eccentric, murder-obsessed artist's mom.

DAYS star Peter Reckell on the late Frances Reid
"This medium can really chew up actors but Frances never let that happen to her. She came to DAYS quite late in her career but she didn't look at the job as a cushy way to relax and live out the rest of her days. Never! She demanded the best from herself and the rest of us. Right to the very end she was on top of people and giving advice — not just the actors but she even gave it to the writers, directors and producers! — and that advice was always right on the nose."
