Rentrak Reports Engagement Metrics for Week Ending January 31, 2010
Rentrak Corporation, a leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the entertainment and advertising industries, released the "Stickiness" Index for the week of January 25, 2010 through January 31, 2010. The "Stickiness" Index lists the top-25 "stickiest" 30-minute, 60-minute and 120-minute primetime programs based on proprietary information derived from Rentrak's TV Essentials service which tracks anonymous set-top-box viewing information.

Super Bowl Scores Highest Household Rating in 23 Years
Super Bowl XLIV -- which gave the beleaguered New Orleans Saints its first Super Bowl appearance and win -- scored the games' highest household rating in 23 years. The Super Bowl, which was broadcast live from Miami on CBS, averaged a 46.4 household rating/68 share, according to overnight ratings supplied by Nielsen. Super Bowl XLIV could be the first sports program to ever domestically crack 100 million viewers.

UPDATE: 106.5 million watched the Super Bowl — the largest audience in TV history.

Shailene Woodley joining Clooney in The Descendants
THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER's Shailene Woodley may have just caught her big break with a starring role in George Clooney’s next film. The film, entitled The Descendants, will be directed by Alexander Payne and is about a lawyer that gets close to his family after a tragedy. The film is based off the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings.
