David Canary Confirms Retirement Rumors

According to SOAPnet.com, beloved legend David Canary will be retiring from the role of Adam Chandler on ALL MY CHILDREN.

"My career on All My Children has given me more than words could ever convey, both professionally and personally. I have cherished each and every moment. I would like to thank all the fans who have tuned in throughout the years. Their love and support has meant the world to me. I truly feel that I will leave the show in great hands. The viewers will be happy with how Adam departs the canvas and I know that leaving JR (Jacob Young) as head of the Chandler household will continue to provide the show with many great stories to come. This is not the last you've seen of Adam Chandler. I will be back to check up on the Chandler Clan."

Rumors of his retirement started circulating online last year after his character of Stuart Chandler was murdered.  We Love Soaps we wishes Mr. Canary much health and happiness in his retirement. His episodes will run through April.

How do YOU feel about this change on ALL MY CHILDREN? Can the show survive the loss of another esteemed veteran?  Or can it continue on it's current creative upswing?

  1. I have to admit that as much as I love Adam Chandler, I think it's not a tragedy that Canary wants to retire. 30 years is a long long time to play one character and creatively it's time to let JR take center stage.

I really hope that the show does a James Mitchell tribute and that Adam has some kind "he was the best rival I ever had" type of speech- because that would really honor the show, the history, the characters.
