NEWS: Mirchoff, Hu/Remar, Yousko, YouTube, Box Set

Is YouTube Ready for Primetime? Google Wants to Stream TV, for a Fee.
YouTube, which is already trying out the movie rental business, wants to get into TV too. Google’s video site has been trying to convince the TV industry to let it stream individual shows for a fee, multiple sources tell me.

YouTube already lets users watch a smattering of TV shows for free, with advertising. Now it envisions something similar to what Apple and Amazon already offer: First-run shows, without commercials, for $1.99 an episode, available the day after they air on broadcast or cable.

Butler County girl to appear on ONE LIFE TO LIVE
Lizzie Yousko, 7, of Renfrew, will appear in the episode that will air on Dec. 10. Lizzie, daughter of John and Julie Yousko, auditioned in New York City for the part. She appears as a young girl in a flashback scene, alongside cast member Florencia Lozano.

SLATE: Giving someone a TV series on DVD is like giving them a life sentence
The DVD box set is the newest and most terrifying form of ritualistic abuse we inflict on one another. In the past, a sick person received unwanted hardback books, but these days when someone is laid up with an illness, they are buried beneath an avalanche of DVD box sets containing hundreds of hours of television series.

Prime-time shows get last laugh on Leno
This is what happens when you panic -- you leave your combat buddy for dead only to find he wasn't, and then he comes back for revenge. Network TV -- it's aaalllliiiivvvee.

INTERVIEW: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Beau Mirchoff (Danny)
"I didn't know what to expect from a show that has been around for six years. I mean, they already have a way of doing things. But it was a great fit from the first day. Everyone's so nice and that makes coming to work much more enjoyable. I am just happy to be part of the show right now because I don't expect to be back next year. I kinda hope to go out with a bang! Like get gunned down by the police, go down in a hail of bullets! That would be awesome."

James Remar & Kelly Hu join VAMPIRE DIARIES
According to Kelly Hu's own Twitter account, the actress has begun shooting a guest spot on the show. She'll be playing Pearl, the Mystic Falls apothecary, in a few flashback scenes. James Remar is set to begin filming his scenes as Giuseppe Salvatore, Stefan and Damon's father, this Wednesday.

GOSSIP GIRL's Matthew Settle recalls days as Dollywood employee
"I ran her country music jamboree, which featured all the country music singers that came through ... I'd sell their records by the train that would be passing through. I remember you'd get this incredible chili but you had to cover it when the train went by because there was so much soot falling from the train ... I'll have to go back and look Dolly up and see if she wants me to drive the mule wagon in the parade."
