Hunter Tylo Blames Social Worker for Drowning
Tylo filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a social worker whom she blamed for her 19-year-old son's 2007 drowning death. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL actress says Shanna Downing of Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness advised her son, Michael Edward Tylo, to stop taking his seizure medication, which caused the young man to have a seizure and drown in a family pool.

This is Tylo's second lawsuit against Downing and the Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness Center. In 2008, she tried unsuccessfully to amend a 2006 lawsuit to include a wrongful death claim.

Yahoo's 3Q profit surges
Yahoo reported Tuesday that its quarterly profit more than tripled even as revenue fell, an indication the nation's No. 2 Internet search company might be doing better at controlling costs than selling online advertising. The firm reported a third-quarter profit of $188 million on revenue that fell 11% to $1.6 billion.

2nd Annual Rick Springfield & Friends Cruise Sets Sail in November
An appearance on Monday's OPRAH revealed that Springfield is busy with several big projects, including a star studded cruise set to sail in November. he cruise is a big hit among Springfield's fans. According to the official website of the Rick Springfield & Friends Cruise, the cruise dates are November 12 to November 16, 2009. Singer Richard Marx will be on board the Carnival cruise ship, as well as soap stars Doug Davidson (Paul, Y&R) and Brandon Barash (Johnny, GH).

SOAPnet a "value"
Sports programming often ranks high in terms of cost and value, but there was a surprise in the most recent Beta study. Gospel Music Channel and NFL Network tied in terms of average perceived value among digital basic networks, with an average value of $2.06. The next closest network was sports-related, with Tennis Channel coming in with a value of $1.53. Rounding out the list were PBS Kids Sprout ($1.50), SOAPnet ($1.49), TV One ($1.49) and CBS College Sports ($1.46).

The study was conducted by Beta Research in July among a sample of 1996 digital cable subs from 32 cable systems. It measured more than 40 digital basic services carried by most cable systems. The DBS results are from the Mar ’09 DBS Satisfaction Survey.
