Raining in New York

The CBS soaps were pre-empted today for U.S. Open Tennis. The Women's Semifinals were scheduled to take place. These Semifinals are hardley thrillwith with Serena Williams being a dominant favorite to win the tournament at this point. Last night's Rafael Nadal match was also supposed to continue today. But instead it has been raining all day so far and there has been no tennis. So our soaps are pre-empted by inane chatter instead. CBS has a contract to air the tournament, but it would sure be nice to at least get some classic soaps if it is not happening.

Rain is expected on Sunday as well when the Men's Final is scheduled. A rain delay could potentially move the match later in the day impacting the CBS primetime lineup. If you are DVRing 60 MINUTES, you may want to record more time just in case.

  3. There won't be any CBS soaps today. CBS will show either live tennis (if they can) or old matches.

  6. FYI---CBS is planning to air the men's final on Monday from 4-7 p.m. ET, so there would be schedule changes in select areas.
