GUIDING LIGHT on 60 MINUTES

Morley Safer hosted a GUIDING LIGHT segment on Sunday night's episode.

  1. I thought it was lovely. So respectful and full of history. Ithink it is "funny" how GL gets a segment on 60 minutes, on of the most important news programs in the world and SOD can't even give them the cover.

  2. Marley,

    I agree with you.

But, I am reminded of Charleston Heston's agonizing speech in Planet of the Apes after finding the Statue of Liberty's wrecked remains.

    :-(

    Just a needless death.

  3. I loved it, it was respectful, charming and funny. The historian who wrote for The Doctors was adorable. The clips were divine. Kim Zimmer was heartbreaking when she contemplated ever working in a similar environment. I also appreciated the time given to the always classy Tina Sloan. Finally, Grant Alexander's notion about what fans will and will not take was exciting to hear from a performer's perspective.

  4. Very good interview, very sad though especially watching the part were Josh leaves in the truck with Reva waving. I loved how some of the actors were still angry because it reminds me that I've lost my show but look at what they've lost.

  5. I thought it was very well done--seemed to be more of a real tribute to the show than the fan-ego trip we got at the Emmys.

  6. I thought 60 minutes was very beautiful but I can't get over how mad I am with CBS for removing GL form daytime TV when it still had so much story left to tell...Friday will be a very sad day for many fans and for me soaps will never mean the same. Finally a refreshing story was being told on GL and it was cut very short by CBS and no other show can replace GL......Very Sad!!!!
