Former CROSSROADS star John Bentley dies at 92
Former CROSSROADS star John Bentley, who married Noele Gordon in the soap’s biggest storyline, has died at the age of 92. The actor from Sparkhill, Birmingham, became a fan favorite as CROSSROADS’ smoothie Hugh Mortimer. He helped the soap reach its biggest-ever ratings in 1975 when he married Meg Richardson, the matriarch of the Crossroads Motel.

Tragic skydive death for HOLLYOAKS LATER
HOLLYOAKS LATER will air a soap first next month when one of the show's leading characters plunges to their death in a tragic parachute incident, Digital Spy has revealed. Filming for the late-night E4 spinoff took place at Tatenhill airfield, Staffordshire, earlier this week where the production team used a storage area and a static plane for the scenes.
