Nelson Branco has been hinting at it for a while, and now Soap Opera Digest is confirming it - Lesli Kay is returning to AS THE WORLD TURNS as Molly.
Lesli Kay, who is currently airing as B&B's Felicia, is returning to ATWT. The actress, who appeared on ATWT from 1997-2004 and earned a Supporting Actress Emmy in 2001, will reportedly appear on both shows simultaneously and travel cross-country from Los Angeles to ATWT's Brooklyn studios to shoot. Look for her to return in late fall.
In January/February 2001, Jensen Buchanan played Vicky on AS THE WORLD TURNS and Melissa on GENERAL HOSPITAL simultaneously (which resulted in a lawsuit). There have been a number of actors who played the same character on multiple shows (Geoffrey Lump, Stephen Schnetzer and Linda Dano come to mind as having played the same character on three soaps). But how many other actors have played two different characters on two soaps at the same time?
I'm loving this! I hope that her relationship with Carly is intact and solidifies Carly's support system.
ReplyDeleteI believe Kelly Monaco was GH at the same time Port Charles was winding down.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing she'll be recurring on both?
ReplyDeleteYES! This is awesome news. I always loved Lesli Kay and Molly, but they need to have Abigail return too and it has to be Kristino Sisco!!
ReplyDeleteB&B hasn't used Felicia since LK's first few months and she's barely on these days, so this will be perfect for her.
What are the chances of them resurrecting Tom Eplin's Jake now? :)
Yaaaay! I love Molly!
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! I'm loving these announcements of fan favorites returning. Now if the writing gets better as well, maybe ATWT can avoid cancellation.
ReplyDeleteAnd let's not forget Robin Christopher (AMC, OLTL and GH).
ReplyDeleteIn radio's heyday, lots of actors simultaneously played parts on different soaps.
ReplyDeleteIn the 1980's in the UK, the same actor was playing Nigel on the radio soap "The Archers" as well as a part on the TV soap "Crossroads." The lady who plays Jill on "The Archers" also had a role on "Crossroads" in the late 1960s.
Hey Rog, it's Geoffrey Lumb, not Lump lol!!
