Patrick Duffy is BOLD Once Again

SOAPnet.com is reporting that Patrick Duffy and Robin Riker are returning to THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL for the wedding of Nick and Bridget.

Legendary shower-taker, Patrick Duffy will be guest-starring on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL next week as Stephen Logan. He'll be joined by Robin Riker (ex-Bonnie on DAYS OF OUR LIVES), who'll be reprising her role as the Logan ladies' mom, Beth (remember when she was on the show all the time and then one day wasn't?). They're passing through Los Angeles to attend the wedding of their granddaughter, Bridget Forrester to Nick Marone. The wedding airs on June 24th and 25th

  1. Actually, I think this show needs a sense of family and reunion and one happy day.

I've been lobbying like crazy, if Melody Thomas Scott doesn't get back to Y&R, that she should be a recast Beth. Yes, she's a little young to be Katherine Kelly Lang's mom...but so is Robin Riker! Seeing MTS back as Heather Tom's mom, and as mom to her former Y&R sparring partner Jennifer Gareis would be DELIGHTFUL.

Also, I'm picturing Thomas Scott vs. Flannery scenes...

Another option would be to send MTS to LA as fashionista Nikki Newman, trying to build a new life for herself. Seeing her tussle again with Don Diamont would be a lot of fun.

I don't know if Brad Bell would go for it...but if yes...I'd be less disappointed if Thomas' contract talks with Y&R break down permanently.

OT: WLS is just amazing. It is clear to see the growth in content (including unique content). Thank you for all the work you do.

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Mark!

I really hope that MTS stays on as Nikki, but picturing her in scenes with Susan Flannery gives me goosebumps! Either way, I have always felt that Riker was an odd recast for Beth Logan. However, it will be nice to see Patrick Duffy again. Maybe Rick and Grandpa Stephen can share notes on Taylor? :)
