News Round-up: Martinez, Palicki, Dicopoulos, Fairchild

Vets get businesses help at Florda 'bootcamp'
ALL MY CHILDREN's J.R. Martinez recently participated in the "Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities" at Florida State University. He urged fellow veterans not to give up their dreams.

"You don't quit and you listen and learn from other people," he said in an interview. "Don't be afraid of the fear."

Morgan Fairchild guesting on B&B
Morgan Fairchild (ex-Sydney, THE CITY; ex-Jennifer SEARCH FOR TOMORROW) briefly returns to daytime to play Beverly Hills socialite, Dottie, who is friends with Stephanie (Susan Flannery) on BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL. In scenes that will air on August 10-14, Dottie will help instigate a fashion show competition between Forrester Creations and Jackie M.

'The Odd Couple' tickets available
"The Odd Couple," presented by Willey World Community Productions and starring Walt Willey, Jill Larson (Manhattanites) and Kim "Howard" Johnson, are available for all shows. The play will run at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, with the doors opening at 6 p.m. A performance also is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26, with the doors opening at 1 p.m.

Dicopoulos is chairman of FAAN Walk for Food Allergy
GUIDING LIGHT's Frank Dicopoulos is the honorary chairman for this year's Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward a Cure in Long Branch on Sept. 12. "Educating the public and our own children about food-allergy safety is key and gives us peace of mind when they are away from us," said Dicopoulos. Both Dicopoulos and his teenage daughter have food allergies.

FNL's Palicki joins Red Dawn
Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki (Tyra, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS)have been cast in the remake of 1984's Red Dawn, set to begin filming in September. They join the already cast Chris Hemsworth in the story of a group of teenagers who form an insurgency after their town is invaded by Chinese and Russian soldiers.
