News Round-up: GH's Michael, Crystal Chappell, Minka Kelly

Michael wakes up a changed person on GH
Michael wakes from his coma next week on GENERAL HOSPITAL. GH is aging Michael so he can mix in with the "teen" set. But he'll face significant health hurdles before he can do that.

"He's 17 now," says Laura Wright, who plays Michael's mom, Carly. 'The actor playing him [Drew Garrett] is 20. I guess I had him at 16."

Michael makes it through surgery, "but then they are all at his bedside, and Patrick comes in. He goes from positive to not-so-positive."

"Michael is furious with Carly because she wasn't there when he woke up. Then he finds out she's pregnant, and he's really not happy. He doesn't realize he's been in a coma for a year. We have lines like, 'It's amazing how much he's grown," and I talk about how his voice has changed. It's almost as if he's a totally different person. Hello! We know he doesn't look anything like Dylan Cash [who used to play Michael]."

INTERVIEW: GL's Crystall Chappell (Olivia)
Chappell appeared on a special episode of the "Big Purple Podcast" on Thursday.

Aisha Tyler headed for ABC Daytime afternoons?
Aisha Tyler has been tapped to host a talk show pilot for ABC. THE AISHA TYLER SHOW is described as a hybrid that will incorporate aspects of a traditional talk show with comedic political commentary, produced comedy segments and other elements usually associated with late-night shows. Aimed at a younger audience, TYLER is being developed as a fully "wired" concept, with fans being able to communicate with Tyler via Facebook, Twitter and other platforms.

There has been speculation that the project might be eyed for ABC's afternoon block, which airs the soaps ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and GENERAL HOSPITAL. But ABC sources stressed that "Tyler" is being targeted strictly for syndication or cable.

New EastEnders starlet Preeya Kalidas on trusting her parents to find her Mr. Right
Preeya Kalidas, who made her EASTENDERS debut last night as Walford's glamorous new arrival, admits she may need a helping hand from her parents in her quest to find real-life love.

Single Preeya says: I havent enough time for my family, let alone a man! Either your love life is going great and your career isnt, or its the other way around. I know people from older generations who were 12 when their marriages were arranged and they had no choice in the matter. Nowadays it is more of an introduction. Families introduce you to a possible suitor, which I dont think is a bad thing. My brother was introduced to his wife through family. Her family is amazing and she is brilliant and it really works. But no one has introduced me to anyone yet!"
