Roger Friedman Out at Fox News

Columnist Roger Friedman is out at FoxNews.com after reviewing an illegally downloaded copy of Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine last week.

Friedman, who wrote the Fox411 column for FoxNews.com, met with Fox News execs Monday. Following the meeting, the company issued a statement saying the parties had "mutually agreed to part ways immediately."

Regular readers of We Love Soaps will probably remember that I've linked to many of his Fox411 reports over the past two years as Friedman often included references to the daytime soaps. He often got facts wrong in his stories, but his was one of the few non-soap columns that regularly discussed the genre. In his March 31 Fox411 report, Friedman said, "A lot of people say soaps were killed by the O.J. Simpson trial in 1994-95, but I disagree. Megalomaniac executive producers — lampooned in the great comedy SoapDish — and hack writers recycled from show to show, did this genre in."
