Adult film actress Marilyn Chambers has died at 56.
The veteran porn star was found unresponsive at her L.A. residence Sunday evening. The cause of death is still under investigation.
Chambers, a former Ivory Snow detergent model, starred in several adult films, most notably the 1972 movie, Behind the Green Door. The X-rated film generated a major buzz for Ivory Soap, which still had Chambers' face on its' box at the time of the pic's release. Procter & Gamble dropped Chambers quickly once they found out about her other career.
She also appeared in the Playboy Channel's foray into soap operas, LOVE YA, FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE, opposite soap actor turned writer Roger Newman (ex-Ken, GUIDING LIGHT).
