News Round-up: Sursok, Knight, Rahm, Whitesell

Sursok will star on Damian's new film
A casting call was held on the weekend at the Comfort Inn in Aberdeen for Flicka 2. The movie, a sequel to Flicka, will star country-music singer Clint Black, Patrick Warburton and Tammin Sursok (Colleen, Y&R). Former Y&R star and "Rock On" singer Michael Damian is directing the film.

Nia Peeples Off Y&R
Soap Opera Digest has learned that Nia Peeples, who plays Karen Winters, has been axed.

Kevin Rahm cast in PIGGY
Kevin Rahm and Jeff Davis are set to star on ABC's comedy presentation THE LITTLE PIGGY. Rahm is currently recurring as Lee on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, the partner of Tuc Watkins' Bob. PIGGY is about a man (Davis) and his sister who move in with their eldest brother (Rahm).


Dozens of gay and lesbian authors who will be participating in the first annual Gay and Lesbian Literary Arts (GALLA) Festival, April 24 and 25, 2009, in Fort Lauderdale. The two-day festival will include free workshops, seminars, panels, presentations and a book fair at the new Stonewall Library & Archives and ArtServe facilities. Chris Whitesell, winner of four daytime Emmy Awards, will discuss his work as co-head writer on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and the other soaps he's worked on.
