It's almost 10 years exactly since the most painful cancellation of a soap hit me. My beloved ANOTHER WORLD was axed by NBC.
From the news wires on April 12, 1999: Viewers of ANOTHER WORLD, the longest-running soap opera in NBC history, will no longer be staying tuned for another episode come June, the network said Monday. The show is being canceled after 35 years, a victim of NBC's decision to revamp its morning and daytime schedule.
