Is Jess Walton leaving Y&R or is the show casting Katherine Chancellor's biological daughter? A casting call went out for Jill Abbott today, to start shooting ASAP. The show is seeking an "established actress" for the contract role. She is described as "late '50s, Caucasian, female. This sexy, fiery woman is a smart and confident CEO of a successful company. While she is strong and can hold her own, she is also a mother and grandmother who wants what is best for her family." An insider says Walton has been under the weather lately, so it could just be a temporary recast.
This is probably a one day replacement or a different character or no big deal at all. But if it turns out Jess Walton is off Y&R for one day or permanently, now is the perfect time to bring back the best Jill ever, Brendra Dickson. Hogan Sheffer writing for Dickson would be a match made in soap heaven. It would probably get campy and some may not like, but who wouldn't tune it to see how it turned out?

ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Brenda Dickson and I'm sure she was exceptional, but to me, Jess Walton is the best.
ReplyDeleteContinuing in the role to this day, Walton has portrayed Jill longer than all the previous actresses combined. Jess has been lauded for her portrayal of the character, and is the only actress to win a Daytime Emmy Award (2) for her work as Jill Foster Abbott.
I don't want Jess Walton to leave the show. I feel she is the only one that can play the part of JILL the way it should be played..I don't know what is going on with the show this season.. Not pleased...
