Soap Stars Participate in "Defying Inequality" Event

Emmy Award winners Judy Gold and Carson Kressley co-hosted "Defying Inequality: The Broadway Concert — A Celebrity Benefit for Equal Rights" last night at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City.

Among the soap world attendees was former AS THE WORLD TURNS star Tamara Tunie, UGLY BETTY's Mark Indelicato and Michael Urie, GENERAL HOSPITAL guest star Sally Struthers, former ALL MY CHILDREN actress Kelli O'Hara and current sensation Tamara Braun, and former ONE LIFE TO LIVE actors Jonathan Groff, Sherri Saum and Kerry Butler.

The event benefitted Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, five charitable organizations working to "promote equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community."
