Soap Opera Weekly Delivery

Are any other subscribers experiencing delays in getting your Soap Opera Weekly? I received TWO in the mail today, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24. This is the second time this month I have received two issues on the same day and none the previous week. I only subscribe to a few magazines these days, but I have never seen such a sporadic delivery schedule for any publication in my life.

  1. Hey Roger,

It's also happening with SOD as well, I get my issue the week after on a Tues. or Wed. and by the time I get it Im thinking WTF do I need this for now?

  2. My SODs have been coming on a pretty regular schedule of late, unlike SOW. In the past I had a big problem with them as well. But not until now have I not received a mag for two weeks, then the previous two issues on the same day.

  3. See I hate getting my SOD late - but they'll always blame the mail carrier and I don't ca who you blame just get me my magazine. It's always funny because after you complain the magazine will come on time for awhile and then it'll drop into that routine of coming a week late.

But that definitely sucks you get two issues on the same day after the fact.

    I'd call and say something.

  4. I experienced that for years. It is the reason I finally gave up (about five years ago)

I would receive them two or three at a time, out of order, etc. This was for both SOD and SOW.

Prior to that, for many years, I received them like clockwork. I would receive the upcoming week's SOW on Wednesday and the upcoming weeks's SOD on Thursday.

In the past year I've begun the digital subscriptions and they are really great.

  5. Great point about digital subscriptions. That might be my best option for Weekly. I'm keeping my SOD home subscription as long as they sometimes have subscriber only covers - usually my only hope to see ATWT or GL on the cover.

  6. I received two SOWs, too. My SODs come regularly, but SOW is erratic.

  7. The problem you describe is common for my SODs (sometimes bunched issues like you describe...but usually just late and unpredictable). They use the same fulfillment house as SOW,

  8. My SOWs arrive on an erratic schedule as well, but I thought that was because I live in Canada.

The quality of the magazine has dropped so far from what it was 10 years ago though that I won't renew when my subscription expires this fall. It's complete fluff and filler anymore.

  9. That's happened to me a couple of times. I just chalked it up to being in the middle of nowhere.

  10. Yeah...I've been getting my mags on an uneven schedule for years...post office said it wasn't their fault...whatta ya gonna do?....

  11. I had that problem years ago, and that's why I stopped subscribing. But as someone else said, the digital editions seem like a good option, since you eliminate the mailman in between.

  12. Roger, that's the reason I quit subscribing to SOD. I ended up at the grocery, reading the copy on the stand and then putting it back up every week, often still days before it arrived at home. (This was back when I lived in KY.)
