News Round-up

STUDY: Soap viewers are the most loyal in daytime
Daytime drama ratings have been falling for years, yet soaps remain a valuable platform for advertisers. That’s because their remaining audience, small though it may be, is extremely engaged.

That’s according to a new FastTrack Television survey from E-Poll, an online pollster, which finds that female daytime viewers are most likely to watch the entire episode of a soap compared to other daytime program genres. These viewers are also more apt to talk about the shows and recommend them to others, and they rate themselves as the most loyal viewers.

Fifty-eight percent of daytime drama viewers said they make an effort to watch their show, well ahead of other daytime genres. Second was court shows at a mere 27 percent, followed by talk and morning shows, tied for third at 26 percent.

CADY MCCLAIN: Rosan-Rosanna Danna
"Thanks to Wikipedia, I am now updated on the whole 'Rosanna' history. I even found my pissed off quote on there, which, if I may say so myself, made me laugh out loud! Perhaps I will get a chance to fix my karma with ATWT someday, that would be nice. I am not in negotiations with AMC, nor have I been by the studio lately, to respond to a comment. Sorry to disappoint!"
