News Round-up

Scorpio's a good sign at GH wedding
Robert Scorpio comes home Friday to walk his daughter, Robin, down the aisle next week on GENERAL HOSPITAL

"He's been in Switzerland," says Tristan Rogers, back again as the popular hero. "His health is good - 99%, as he says."

Scorpio battled cancer earlier this year in a moving story that played out on SOAPnet's GH spinoff, NIGHT SHIFT.

"He just walks in the door and says he wants to be part of the wedding."

Viewers know that Robin went into labor at her wedding to Patrick last month, which put a slight damper on the proceedings.

"I guess everyone figured she's got to have a proper wedding, given that the first one could be classified as improper," says Rogers. "And it should be a family affair. So the entire family on the Scorpio side is there."

Including Robert's ex-wife, Anna.

"The two of them look over their lives and talk about what got them to this moment. It's a continuation of what was discussed on NIGHT SHIFT."

DAYS' Darin Brooks in new Spike TV comedy
Spike TV is heading to the college gridiron, ordering a football-themed comedy pilot in the vein of Animal House.

BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE follows three incoming freshmen attending Midwestern college football powerhouse Blue Mountain State who must quickly adapt to college life and juggle football, girls, classes and nonstop hazing.

Former NFL running back-turned-actor Ed Marinaro stars as the team's coach. Darin Brooks (Max, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) plays Alex, a talented quarterback content to ride the bench while partying with his best friend, Sammy (co-writer Chris Romano), who aspires to be the school's mascot. Sam Jones III plays Craig, the school's top recruit and future pro whose life already is mapped out for him by his controlling girlfriend, Denise (Gabrielle Dennis).
