Jamey Giddens at Daytime Confidential is reporting that Ed Scott is out as DAYS OF OUR LIVES Co-Executive Producer and Gary Tomlin may be in.The behind the scenes drama at DAYS has been going on for weeks now. Nelson Branco first broke the story that Dena Higley's scripts were being rewritten: "Dena Higley stormed off the set when she learned co-executive producer Ed Scott and a major diva were rewriting most of her storylines."
Tomlin has been in the soap world for decades, starting as an actor and moving on to writer, director and producer. He was previously Executive Producer at ONE LIFE TO LIVE and SUNSET BEACH. Tomlin was the co-head writer of DAYS (along with Michelle Poteet-Lisanti) for 256 episodes from October 20, 1980-October 20, 1981. A few events during his tenure included the aging of Hope Williams to a teenager and the arrivals of Renee Dumonde and Jake Kositchek (the Salem Slasher).
Scott, the husband of Y&F's Melody Thomas Scott, spent most of his career as a producer for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, learning the ropes under the late Bill Bell.
