B&B's Hunter Tylo turns tragedy into triumph
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL's Hunter Tylo (Taylor) is trying to turn tragedy into triumph. Tylo has joined forces with the newly organized American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation (AEOF), www.epilepsyoutreach.org, to help raise awareness of this neurological disorder that affects more than 3 million people in the United States and to educate the public on first aid for someone experiencing a seizure.

Thorsten Kaye grew up in Europe but earned a master's degree in theater and theater history at Wayne State in the early 1990s, portraying Macbeth and Mark Antony on stage at the Hilberry Theater. He's currently starring on ALL MY CHILDREN after stints on the sudsers ONE LIFE TO LIVE and PORT CHARLES. On the NHL website, he admits to being an NHL fan since... 2008.

Kate Linder (Esther, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS) has visited troops in Afghanistan and other parts of the world. She says she is involved not because she supports the war, but because she supports the troops who are serving their country.

Former soap Costume Designer Peggy Higman opens store in South Dakota
"Ever since I was 13 and read Vogue, I knew I wanted my own store," Higman said. "I've always been into fashion. I moved to Los Angeles for a while and worked as a costumer in soap opera wardrobe departments. I worked as a costumer and on the set with actors for shows like PASSIONS, GENERAL HOSPITAL, and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS While I lived there, I helped out with commercials here and there."

Gemma quitting EASTENDERS?
Gemma Bissix is reportedly set to quit EASTENDERS. Bissix, who plays Clare Bates in the Albert Square soap, only returned to the soap in February after a stint in HOLLYOAKS. A source told the Daily Mirror: "Clare has been working her way round the men of Walford for the past few months but what she had thought was a masterplan to bag the man of her dreams soon gets out of hand.

New play by former OLTL writer
Najah Johnson, Eva Kaminsky, Trish McCall, Mark L. Montgomery, and Joel Rooks will star in Enid Rudd's "The Other Side of Newark," to run at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, June 19-29. The production will be directed by Pamela Berlin, with sets by Michael Schewikardt and costumes by Suzanne Chesney.

The autobiographically-based show, set in the 1930s and the 1980s, concerns a young Jewish school teacher who takes a position at a predominantly black school in Newark, who mentors a promising student from a poor home, who meet five decades later in a hopsital room. Rudd's other plays include "PeterPat" and "The Ashes of Mrs Reasoner," and she has been a staff writer for the ABC daytime drama ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
