Ricky Paull Goldin's first AMC tape date set
Current GUIDING LIGHT and future ALL MY CHILDREN star Ricky Paull Goldin blogs on future airdates and other things: "I've just been informed that my first official tape date for AMC is April 8th. I should be airing at the end of April, beginning of May. I don't know when my final air date is for GUIDING LIGHT, but I am going to find out! In my final weeks of freedom before I start my new journey, I plan to take my mother to Europe for a little shopping and relaxation. It won't be long before I'm thick into storyline and can't get away so easily."

Ghost played by C-C-C-Cady to revisit AMC
ALL MY CHILDREN is trying to undo the damage caused by Dixie's death last year by bringing back Cady McClain, who played Dixie, as a ghost to comfort her loved ones. "I was very happy to get the call to revisit this character and her story," says McClain, who reports for work the week of April 7. The previous writing regime killed longtime heroine Dixie Martin with poison pancakes, an act that enraged fans and derailed the story of Tad and Dixie finding their daughter, Kate. (Kate was given up for adoption and is being raised by Julia, who doesn't know that Kate is Tad and Dixie's child.) But AMC has a new writing team now, and they seem determined to right this wrong. "The unresolved issue of Tad and Dixie's daughter, Kate, was very frustrating for both the production and the audience, and AMC thinks this might be a good opportunity to heal it," says McClain. "Personally, I couldn't be happier. It's a blessing to be able to fix something that left such a pain in my heart. I really want to bring that gratitude to work, and enjoy every moment."

More on the Nuke Kissing and GLAAD Controversies
"[Tom] O'Neil criticizes GLAAD for having only famous faces such as Van and Jake (as opposed to the stars of DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION for instance) present. Imagine that! An awards show with famous folks present! If only The Emmys, The Academy Awards, and The Grammys had thought of that first. And not at all to diss Van and Jake (or ATWT) but since when did those two hit the A-list?"

DAYS Emmy winning former Art Director dies
Wade Battley was an art designer who won an Emmy for her work on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. She also worked on GENERAL HOSPITAL and PORT CHARLES. She died of cancer at age 52. She is survived by her husband, Alan Tate, a propmaster; a daughter; a stepdaughter; her mother; a sister and a brother.

AMC's Aiden Turner makes spaghetti
The Northwest Women's Show at Qwest Field Event Center celebrates its 20th anniversary with fun, prizes, celebrities and entertainment on five stages. On the GoodLife stage, Aiden Turner, from ALL MY CHILDREN, will prepare spaghetti on the cooking stage (12:30 p.m. Sunday), where guest chefs will cook their favorites recipes and identify wines that will work with them. And to top it off, they'll be plenty of vino to sample in the wine-tasting area.

Former AMC writer now mystery novelist
Nancy Bush, former breadown writer for ALL MY CHILDREN, is now writing mystery novels with a series featuring Jane Kelly and her pug, the Binkster.

Former OLTLer Carroll performing in one man show
Steve Carroll, a New York actor who relocated to Venice in 2006, is putting on a one-man show, "Charles Lindbergh: The Lone Eagle," but he may be more familiar to soap fans as Dr. Matt Rawlins on ABC's ONE LIFE TO LIVE for four years. Steve developed his Lindbergh show in 2001 and can be seen at Lemon Bay Playhouse in Englewood tonight through Sunday. Call 475-6756.

Long-time Y&R star Tonya Lee Williams' Film Festival kicks off
The longer it goes on, the more the ReelWorld Film Festival lives up to its aim of being a launching pad where young and emerging filmmakers of color can introduce their stories and get a crack at the mainstream cinema screens. That was the sort of impact actor Tonya Lee Williams of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS had in mind when she started ReelWorld in 1999. The festival has an international dimension too, presenting films from the U.S., the U.K., Europe and Asia that often give a strong sense of what it is like to live in a diaspora culture.

Bad TV spawns model car kits
Canadian actor Jonathan Frid became an unlikely sex symbol as vampire Barnabas Collins in ABC-TV's 1970s gothic soap opera DARK SHADOWS. The model kit featured a casket trailer complete with reclining Barnabas figure. From the promotional literature: "Build this sadistic soap opera sports car! Oozing with enough parts to make any vampire sit up and take notice! Blown werewolf engine, screaming hollow slicks, grave-digger shovel handle shifter, eerie casket top rails, frightening lantern headlights, bloody globe side lamps and sinister plated wheels."

ATWT legend Eileen Fulton weighs in on reality shows
“I am a DANCING WITH THE STARS devotee myself and haven't watched (am I the only one, I think I am) AMERICAN IDOL in a while. While I hope the contestants don't lose their own sense of who they are, I do believe they are getting the chance of a lifetime. To get advice week after week from the judges who truly know what they are talking about is priceless. I hope they all take that advice. Getting Simon Cowell to tell you what's wrong and what's right with what you are doing is a Harvard education for a performer. You may not like what he says or how he says it - but is he really ever wrong? I don't think so. I wouldn't mind having him critique my act.”
