Evening News

Cady McClain blogs on her return to ALL MY CHILDREN
"I AM returning to AMC for a while. I got a phone call from Julie asking if I was available this spring. As I have taken time off to have this surgery, I said, 'well, in a manner of speaking I am. What’s up?'

As it stands, they have asked me back to play a ghost, yes, for a limited amount of time. I know this may be a disappointment to some of you, but I ask you to please give it a chance. I have had the opportunity to have some lovely in depth conversations with TPTB about this story, and I think it will be very uplifting, fun, and rewarding for fans. Who knows what the future will bring? Right now I take it a day at a time. I feel grateful for the opportunity to heal something that so many feel went amiss."

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Stephen Macht: Can Character Actors Save Soaps?

Ex-B&Ber Mario Lopez has a new book out
Not since the days that the Jheri-churled AC Slater roamed the halls of Bayside High School on Saturday mornings thruout the '90s has Mario Lopez been riding such a career high. Since his days on SAVE BY THE BELL, Mario has played Greg Louganis in a biopic movie of the week about the Olympic diver, he played Dr. Christian Ramírez on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (where he basically brought Felicia Forrester back from the dead) and played Dr. Mike Hamoui on NIP/TUCK (in an awesome butt-bearing role). Currently, Mario plays host on the MTV dance competition show Randy Jackson presents AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW -- and soon will be releasing his very own fitness book called "Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness."

The Long Good-Bye from Jesse Soffer and Jen Landon
For their big "exit" interview, Jennifer Lenhart from Soap Opera Digest met Jennifer Landon (Gwen) and Jesse Soffer (Will) at the AS THE WORLD TURNS studio, where Soffer quickly suggested that we move to his dressing room down the hall (across from Michael Park's, Jack) for more privacy. Randomly joining the interview was Landon's friend Jess, who sat quietly in the corner next to the publicist as ATWT's wry, witty young couple (and Emmy darlings) candidly spoke about their experiences on the show and admitted that what comes next is still unclear.

Canadian soap PARADISE FALLS coming later this year
Is cottage country ready for a transsexual mayor? Will Nick and Sacha’s marriage last, and what is going on in the creepy woods near Sparrow Lake? All these questions and more will be answered when the Canadian soap PARADISE FALLS hits the screens later this year on the Showcase channel. The show, which labels itself as a “campy dramatic prime time serial”, is set in a picturesque cottage country location and is filmed in Toronto and at the Delmonte in the Pines resort on Sparrow Lake.

Georgina lands role in online teenage cult soap opera

ATWT's Lauretta Vaughn attends Auto Show
Reclining in a lounge filled with Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona chairs, was Lauretta Vaughn, who plays "fiery chick" Kit Fowler on CBS’s AS THE WORLD TURNS. (She does not have an evil twin… yet.) Wearing an eye-catching clingy gold mini-dress with plunging neckline, Ms. Vaughn said that she was going to several parties this week. "I want to get pictures of the cars, get myself inside the cars, and maybe put a car or two in my purse," she said. An hour or two later, Ms. Vaughn found herself at Saab and Intersection magazine’s party, held at Frank Gehry’s IAC building.
