News Brief

Hub: Peek inside a stable, sober grown-up, it seems, and you'll find a kid who would really like to have a talking car. At least, that's the idea you get from people in tonight's NBC movie, which tries to revive the KNIGHT RIDER series. "I was a huge, huge fan," said Justin Bruening, who stars. "I was talking to my bike and riding around, solving crimes."

New York Daily News: SPOILER ALERT: Shots rang out Friday on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but who got hit? "Monday picks up with both Kate and Carly lying on the ground," says Laura Wright, who plays Carly. "You don't know who got hit. Jax comes to Carly and says, 'Carly, are you okay?' She's, like, 'I guess I got queasy and fell over.' Carly thinks she must have passed out from being pregnant. She didn't even hear the gun go off."

Asbury Park Press: At the seventh annual Women's Expo in the Ritacco Center Saturday, Catherine Hickland of ONE LIFE TO LIVE was giving three-minute makeovers with her own line of cosmetics, specifically designed for a woman on the go.

Daily Telegraph: When Susan Flannery began playing Stephanie Forrester, her alter ego on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, it was 1987 and GOOD NEWS WEEK host Paul McDermott was barely out of high school. So it's no surprise the queen of daytime TV received a standing ovation from GOOD NEWS WEEK's live audience when she agreed to appear as a guest star on tonight's show.

St. Petersburg Times: EVENT: Ever dream of meeting the handsome stars of your favorite afternoon soap operas? Today could be your lucky day. A special Valentine-themed brunch offers the opportunity to rub shoulders with five hunky afternoon favorites from ALL MY CHILDREN, GENERAL HOSPITAL and ONE LIFE TO LIVE and raise money for a good cause. Prepare for your heart to flutter and your mind to wander when you get up close with Walt Willey (who plays Jackson Montgomery) and Jeff Branson (Jonathon Lavery) of AMC; Forbes March (Nash Brennen) and Brandon Buddy (Cole Thornhart) of OLTL; and Dominic Rains (Dr. Leo Julian) of GH at this fifth annual event.

ABC: Former GUIDING LIGHT and ANOTHER WORLD star David Andrew Macdonald will appear on ONE LIFE TO LIVE.

Toronto Star: CORONATION STREET fans favour savoury Caesars. Brit soap opera draws patrons for brunch at cozy west-end pub.

Seattle Times: Reflecting on the Oscars with former soap stars Ruby Dee and Hal Holbrook.

Soap Opera Network: Daytime Nielsen Ratings for the week of February 4-8, 2007.

  1. Dudes. Paul McDermott started performing on television in 1987 too. Barely out of high school?
