Soap Opera Digest: INTURN, the reality show in which actors compete for a 13-week gig on AS THE WORLD TURNS, is coming back for a third season. In-person casting calls will be held in Orlando, FL, on January 19, and Richmond, VA, on January 26. Contestants aged 18-36 can also submit a tape for consideration. INTURN 2 winner Ryan Serhant, currently appearing as Evan Walsh IV, has advice for the next set of contestants: "Go all out. Don't hold anything back."
FOX News: What will happen with the Hollywood strike of the Writers Guild of America? Some writers have gone back to work anyway. At low-rated ABC soap "All My Children," I am told all the writers went "fi-core" and took a package that allowed them to return to business. This is frowned upon, and the soap scribes are unpopular. (CBS’ "Guiding Light," on the other hand, is on strike. Scabs are writing scripts.) And the estimates of an ending? "April," says one writer. "July," says another. "Mid-February," answers my studio guy.
The Times-Picayune: Christian LeBlanc (Michael, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS) and Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus, GUIDING LIGHT) will take to the streets of New Orleans during Carnival next month. The Orpheus parade is slated to roll February 4th.
Celebrity Baby Blog: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Joshua Morrow, his wife Tobe, and their sons Cooper, 5, and Crew James, 2 ½, attend the Boom Boom Room event in Century City, CA, on Saturday, January 12th. Tobe is currently expecting their third son, due in April.
PR Newswire: The Ninth Annual Renal Teen Prom, "Winter Elegance," sponsored by the Renal Support Network (RSN), is to be held Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. John McCook (Eric, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL) and other celebrities will join the festivities signing autographs and posing for photos with their fans.
Now Magazine Online: SPOILER ALERT: EASTENDERS' Dot Branning weeps her heart out.
