DAYTIME RATINGS: GENERAL HOSPITAL Hits 5-Month High In Total Viewers

The daytime Nielsen ratings are in for the week of September 9-13, 2013. GENERAL HOSPITAL continued to rise reaching a 5-month high in total viewers.

Nearly half way through its 50th anniversary commemoration, 'baby and legal drama' powered GENERAL HOSPITAL to a 5-month high in Total Viewers (2.78 million) - since week of 4/8/13 - and to its 2nd-most-watched week in 5-months in Women 18-49 (665,000/1.0 rating) and Women 25-54 (917,000/1.5 rating) - since weeks of 4/15/13 and 4/8/13, respectively.

* Tuesday's telecast, featuring complications with Britt's baby and a newly-freed Franco proclaiming his feelings for Carly, ranked as the series' most-watched telecast in nearly 5 months in Total Viewers (3.00 million), while Wednesday's episode, revealing Baby Connie, was its 2nd-most-watched telecast in over 2 years in Women 25-54 (1.03 million) - since 4/10/13 and 8/15/11, respectively.

* With one week to go in the 2012/13 season, GENERAL HOSPITAL is pacing for its strongest season in 5 years in Total Viewers (2.97 million), generating the biggest year-to-year increases of any broadcast daytime drama (+14% - vs. 2.61 million), and is also the growth leader season to season in Women 18-34 (+35% - 253,000 vs. 187,000) and Women 18-49 (+7% - 769,000 vs. 718,000).

o Notably, season to date, GENERAL HOSPITAL is TV's #1 broadcast program in daytime in Women 18-34, and ranks #2 in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54.

Featuring all-new host Jenny McCarthy, THE VIEW launched its 17th season soaring to near 7-month highs in Women 18-49 (553,000/0.9 rating) and Women 25-54 (749,000/1.2 rating) - and to a 5-week high in Total Viewers (3.01 million) - since weeks of 2/25/13 and 8/5/13, respectively.

THE CHEW kicked off its third season delivering its most-watched week in over one-and-a-half years in Women 18-49 (512,000/0.8 rating) and Women 25-54 (672,000/1.1 rating) and in nearly 8 months in Total Viewers (2.59 million) - since weeks of 1/9/12 and 1/28/13, respectively.

In fact, this week stood as the series 4th-most-watched week on record in the key women demos and its 5th-most-watched week in Total Viewers.

* Monday's season 3 launch, featuring co-host Daphne Oz's exciting baby news announcement, qualified as the show's most-watched telecast in close to 8 months in Total Viewers (2.85 million), while Tuesday's telecast, celebrating National TV Dinner Day with Chef Batali and Chef Symon squaring off in a TV dinner showdown, was its most-watched telecast in nearly 20 months in Women 18-49 (584,000/0.9 rating) - since 1/28/13 and 2/2/12, respectively.

o Impressively, Monday's show became THE CHEW's #4 telecast ever in Total Viewers and #6 of all time in Women 18-49.

* Versus last season's premiere week (9/10/12-9/14/12), THE CHEW was up by a solid 21% in Total Viewers (2.59 million vs. 2.14 million), by 37% in Women 18-49 (512,000 vs. 373,000) and by 26% in Women 25-54 (672,000 vs. 535,000).

From CBS:
The fourth season premiere of THE TALK delivered the daytime talk show's largest weekly audience ever, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 15.

THE TALK averaged 2.80 million viewers, up +20% over last year's premiere audience of 2.33 million viewers. Among women 25-54, THE TALK averaged 1.2/08, also up +20% over last year's 1.0/06 and matching its all-time high in the demo.

From KATIE:
Based on National ratings for its second season premiere week (w/o 9/9/13), KATIE shot up by double digits week to week in Households (+19% - 1.9 rating vs. 1.6 rating), Total Viewers (+22% - 2.388 million vs. 1.962 million) and Women 25-54 (+29% - 0.9 rating vs. 0.7 rating). In fact, KATIE scored its highest Household rating and largest audience in more than 6 months and matched its highest Women 25-54 rating in 7 months – since w/o 2/25/13 and w/o 2/4/13, respectively.

KATIE nearly matched its big year-ago debut week in Households, pacing within 1-tenth of a rating point (1.9 rating vs. 2.0 rating on w/o 9/10/12).

During premiere week, KATIE finished among the Top 5 syndicated talk shows in U.S. Homes (No. 5).
