WIGS announced today that BLUE, starring Julia Stiles as the title character, will start production on a third season. BLUE follows a single mother trying to protect her son from the consequences of her secret career as an escort. The No. 1 scripted drama series on YouTube with more than 26 million views, BLUE has increased its audience reach since becoming available on Hulu in June.In Season Three, BLUE finds herself getting a little too close to a client. Also, Blue's son, Josh (Uriah Shelton, THE GLADES), keeps a life-changing secret of his own from his mother.
BLUE is written by WIGS co-creator Rodrigo Garcia and Karen Graci, and directed by Garcia. The first WIGS series to be greenlighted for a third season, BLUE will introduce Eric Stoltz as Stiles' love interest. Also, Stiles' real-life sister, Jane O'Hara, will make her debut as Blue's sister.
Other new cast members include Daren Kagasoff (THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER) and Alexz Johnson (INSTANT STAR), as well as Laura Spencer (THE LIZZIE BENNET DIARIES). Shelton, Kathleen Quinlan, Carla Gallo and James Morrison (REVENGE) will reprise their roles from previous seasons.
Seasons One and Two of BLUE, which featured Mark Consuelos, Michelle Forbes, William Petersen, Holly Robinson Peete, Jeanne Tripplehorn, David Harbour and Sarah Paulson, can be viewed at www.watchwigs.com, www.hulu.com/blue and www.youtube.com/wigs.
