A new 10-episode GUIDING LIGHT DVD was released today at Amazon.com, "The Jennifer Richards Trial." Featuring two weeks of episodes from January 1981, this explosive trial was pre-empted during a critical moment thanks to a news interruption about the release of the Iranian hostages.
This was Jennifer's (Geraldine Court) second trial for the murder of Lucille Wexler.

Jennifer learns that she is being given a new trial because her attorney, Mike Bauer, has discovered fresh evidence. Meanwhile, a pregnant Amanda begins to doubt her mother’s true motivation for accusing Jennifer with her dying words.

Inexplicably, Jennifer is upset when her attorney, Mike Bauer, convinces a judge to give her a second trial. She then takes action to ensure that the new evidence discovered will not help her case. Mike seeks new information from a mysterious attorney, Neil Blake, who is in Australia.

After talking to Mike Bauer’s office, Neil Blake, an attorney who knows Jennifer’s secret, returns from Australia to attend her trial.

Mike discovers a mysterious birth certificate. He suspects it explains why Jennifer is willing to stay in prison for a crime she didn’t commit.

Ben McFadden, Amanda’s husband, visits Jennifer in prison. Jennifer begs Ben to keep Amanda away from the courtroom. She tells Mike that the mysterious birth certificate belonged to her sister.

Neil Blake arrives in Springfield, and promises Jennifer he will not reveal her dark secret. Mike Bauer calls Jennifer to the witness stand. While she testifies, she is shocked at the appearance of a surprise guest in the courtroom, who holds the key to the mystery.
