Building on its ratings momentum as the most-watched cable network among adults 18-34 in April, mun2 brings to U.S. audiences OJO POR OJO, a novela which has become an international hit in over six Latin American countries including Colombia, Venezuela and Peru. mun2’s telenovela offerings continue to set the standard of Spanish language content for U.S. audiences, customized with English subtitles.
OJO POR OJO tells the story of two rival families, the Barragáns and the Monsalves, who condemn each other to an uncontrollable cycle of death. The family feuding begins when two cousins make a bet to win over the love of a woman, resulting in Nando Barragán killing his own cousin Adriano Monsalve. This tragic event marks the beginning of a declared war between both families. The Barragáns and the Monsalves battle each other in an endless vendetta, all while fiery romances between rivals develop.
The network’s award winning website mun2.tv will maximize its social media efforts by engaging existing OJO POR OJO fans on the telenovela’s twitter and facebook pages. During the exclusive U.S television premiere (5/21 at 11 p.m. ET/PT) mun2 will interact with fans in real time by live tweeting through its twitter page (hashtag: #ojoxojo). mun2.tv will also offer weekly quiz recaps and invite viewers to connect with other OJO POR OJO fans.
The telenovela is a Telemundo Studio production and is based on the bestseller “Leopard in the Sun” by Laura Restrepo.
