Today in Soap Opera History (March 7)

On this date in...

1979: On ANOTHER WORLD, Jamie told Rachel he never wanted to see her again.

1980: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Tom and Alice celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and the Hortons sang their favorite song, "Always." John Lupton returned as Tommy Horton for the occasion. (Note: "Always" was also Chris and Nancy's song on AS THE WORLD TURNS, sang famously at their 50th anniversary as well in 1986.)

1980: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, the train taking Draper to prison derails.

1983: On SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, an argument with her father-in-law turns violent for Liza.

1986: On AS THE WORLD TURNS, Craig hoped to convince Betsy to work for him. Lily offered to help Lucinda patch things up with Sierra.

1989: Leigh McCloskey debuted as Ethan Asher on SANTA BARBARA.

1991: On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Nina shot David (five times!).

1995: On ONE LIFE TO LIVE, Asa told Cord that Blair would never change.

  2. Some great memories for ATWT & Y&R here. What we are left with now, just doesn't compare to some of those memorable storylines.
