Brian Frons 'Thrilled' to Give ONE LIFE TO LIVE Time Slot to Dr. Jennifer Ashton, Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry

In what appears to be another attempt to punch-up ONE LIFE TO LIVE's replacement, THE REVOLUTION, Brian Frons has re-jiggered the cast to contain an obstetrician/gynecologist and a psychotherapist.

"I am thrilled to bring this stellar team of experts to THE REVOLUTION" said Frons. "I am confident that the combination of these co-hosts, along with our producing partners at 3 Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA who specialize in lifestyle transformations, will resonate with our viewers."

A graduate of Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Jennifer Ashton is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is an attending physician at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Most recently she has served as a medical correspondent for CBS News and a medical contributor for Fox News.

Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist (though not a medical doctor) with a private practice in Atlanta that focuses on helping women and couples forge healthier relationships. She has a BA in Psychology, an MA in Professional Counseling, and a doctorate in Human Sexuality Education.

ABC also reports that a financial reporter has been thrown into the mix, as well. Michelle Singletary writes the nationally syndicated personal finance column, "The Color of Money," for The Washington Post.  Singletary is also the author of three books: Spend Well, Live Rich; Your Money and Your Man and the recently published The Power to Prosper: 21 Days to Financial Freedom.

ABC is still struggling to make THE CHEW a success after it replaced ALL MY CHILDREN in the 1:00 PM time slot. As TV Media Insights clearly outlines, THE CHEW's ratings may not be strong enough to justify making another, very similar programming change at 2:00 PM.

All My Children (ABC) – Week of 10/18/10
Viewers: 2.31 million, Women 25-54: 1.2/ 8, Women 18-49: 0.8/ 6,

Viewers: 1.94 million, Women 25-54: 0.9/ 5, Women 18-49: 0.6/ 4,

  1. Brian Frons' brain is fried apparently... he can no longer make sound decisions as to what the VIEWERS want! Really he thinks we want to hear an OB/GYN, an others tell us things we can hear on our own morning news stations and from our own physicians. Boring!!! I'm going to sleep :( please spare us another show as boring as the chew. Hello!! If they really must take the daytime dramas off of tv because he is so anxious to save money at least show us something worth watching like re-runs of Happy Days or I Love Lucy!! LOL!!!

  2. Anon: Why bother?

MeTV carries both shows...and unlike ABC and Frons, they DON'T insult your intelligence!

  3. No one wants to watch the slop they are putting on to replace our soaps. I can't wait to be "thrilled" when Brian Frons gets fired.

  4. Given that OLTL has much higher ratings than AMC did at the end, it will be delightful to see just what a mess of a ratings debacle The Revolution (idiotic name) will be.

  5. Unfortunately, these shows are dirt cheap and ABC automatically sees 40% reduction in expenses. Therefore, even with lower ratings, ABC is making money. Ultimately, ABC is just following the model it has in primetime: if a show doesn't work, it will cancel it and replace it with something else.

Moreover, because ABC has licensed OLTL & AMC, if either or both shows is successful online, ABC still makes money.

  6. ABC is Alienating Millions of fans and they are losing millions of dollars. They may be saving a buck on AMC production but they are losing millions maybe even billions worldwide by the all the people that are not patronizing ABC/DISNEY businesses. DAYTIME FANS ARE NIGHTIME FANS !!! Why do you think all of you new programming is TANKING !!! Penny Wise and Pound Foolish ! Your Experiment was a bust !!! BRING BACK AMC and DONT CANCEL OLTL.

TAKE YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTCRACKS !!!

  8. What's so revolutionary about The Revolution? It steals it's title from the show that Jamie Oliver had, which failed, BTW. And it steals it's concept from the shortlived show that was on another network called The Doctors. That show had doctors, including an OBGYN, sitting around talking about how to improve your life and your health. No one was watching that one, why would anyone duplicate a show that no one cared about in the first place?
