News Round-up: Hennesy, Blazer, Zimmer, Blackwood

Broadcast Execs Can Breathe Again
Every broadcast network executive had the same nightmare heading into premiere week: The viewers finally aren't coming back. But everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief last week; while the early across-the-board numbers didn't necessarily lead to the popping of champagne corks, neither did they precipitate acute agita.

INTERVIEW: GH's Carolyn Hennesy (Diane)
"There isn’t a hallucinogen strong enough to make me dream of Diane and Sonny. Or Jason … God love him. With either of them, it would be brutal and funny and rip-roaring. Pure animal lust … and then she’d probably get shot or something. So NO … a thousand times no. Now Johnny … on the other hand. Or Lucky. Hmmmmm … well, a girl can dream."

Annie Potts, Kim Zimmer to star in Freshman Father
Potts plays an apartment manager who is a surrogate mother to Seeley's character, a Harvard undergrad who is in a shotgun marriage and ends up juggling school and parental duties. Zimmer plays his dean and unlikely mentor. Project is based on a true story. The original film will air on the Hallmark Channel in 2010.

INTERVIEW: Former DAYS actor Steve Blackwood (ex-Bart)
"My temp role as Bart started in 1999 and eventually became permanent, and I had a lot of fun making him a Peter Sellers-inspired comedy foil. Bart got killed with a sword right through the chest. I remember my producer Ken Corday coming up to me and saying, 'Steve, I've got some really exciting news. We're going to kill you off.' That wasn't exciting news for me. Acting is my livelihood."

WHERE ARE THEY NOW: ATWT's Judith Blazer (ex-Ariel)
Blazer will star on Saturday in "Broadway Spectacular!," the first concert of the Danville Symphony Orchestra season.
