Star Trek Movie Opens to $7M Thursday

Paramount's Star Trek opened at 7 p.m. Thursday on most of its 3,800 screens, grossing an estimated $7 million as of Friday morning.

J.J. Abrams' reboot of the classic sci-fi franchise has been receiving rave reviews.

Deadline Hollywood is predicting a $75M weekend for the film which features several former soap stars.

Bruce Greenwood (ex-Pierce, KNOTS LANDING), Jason Brooks (ex-Peter, DAYS OF OUR LIVES), Jeffrey Byron (ex-Dr. Boardman, PORT CHARES; ex-Jeff, ALL MY CHILDREN), Ben Cross (ex-Barnabas, DARK SHADOWS) and Darlene Tejeiro (ex-Anita, ALL MY CHILDREN) all appear in the movie.
