Ingo Rademacher Joining 'The Bold and the Beautiful' as Thorne Forrester

Former General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher has joined the cast of CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as the new Thorne Forrester. He will first air on B&B in mid-to-late November, according to TV Insider.

Rademacher is the fourth actor to step into the part, replacing Winsor Harmon, who had been playing Thorne on a recurring basis in recent years.

"You can’t try to be someone else, but I certainly hope to play Thorne as well as Winsor did," Rademacher explains. "He’s really one of the nicest and most gracious people I’ve ever met. He tweeted over this past weekend that his role was being recast and I read the comments and a lot of people weren’t happy. There was a lot of support for Winsor, and rightly so. I said to my wife, 'Wow, I feel kind of bad about this.' I mean, I know it’s the way things go in daytime, but this is a new experience for me. I’ve never stepped into a role that was previously played by someone else. I hope the fans aren’t too upset about this."

Harmon responded to the casting news on Twitter.

"Congrats @IngoRademacher you’re gonna be amazing as Thorne buddy!!" he wrote. "Big shoes dude, size 11, call me man."

Rademacher joined the cast of General Hospital in 1996 and has played the role of Jasper "Jax" Jacks on and off ever since.

  1. Not sure that Ingo R. can do an American accent but it will be good to see Thorne actually developed as a character. Respect due to Windsor Harmon for his classy response to the recasting.
