Beth Maitland Returning to 'The Young and the Restless' as Traci Abbott for the Holidays

Fans of CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless will finally get to see longtime fave Beth Maitland back as Traci Abbott during the holidays.

Maitland--Y&R's very first acting Emmy winner back in 1985--shows up on the December 24 episode, her first appearance since Chuck Pratt took over as head writer in January. The actress is scheduled to appear in multiple episodes.

Maitland originated the role of Traci in 1982.

    I'm so happy to hear this. Beth has long been my fave, and it has aggravated me to no end that Traci disappeared this year, especially during times her heart could have added so much to the show. Welcome back, Beth/Traci!

    I wonder if anyone will think to tell Traci that her brother was kidnapped and had a doppelganger impersonating him for months. .. lol!

    So is Y&R only pulling out Tracy for holidays now? She's one of the few still connected to the show that can actually act, please somebody write even half a storyline for her!
