HOT STORIES: The Return of Dr. John Dixon

Nothing could be hotter for AS THE WORLD TURNS than the return of one of the most complex characters in soap opera history, Dr. John Dixon, played by one of the greatest actors of all time, Larry Bryggman. The show was wise to use the 2010 version of John, Dr. Reid Oliver, to bring the character back. Well done, ATWT.

Watch John's return below.

  1. It's very clever of you guys to insert the 1993 revolving globe theme song intro into these scenes. That brings back big memories for me. It's great seeing Larry/Dr. John back again for these last 3 weeks! :-)

  2. I agree - - ATWT got this one right! I've been watching ATWT since the early 60s and Dr. John Dixon was one of my favorites. ATWT also got it right when they created the character of Dr. Reid Oliver and then chose Eric Sheffer Stevens to bring him to life! So it is heavenly to see these two great actors in scenes together!

  3. Way to go, didn't know what they would do with Dr. D's return. I was afraid they would waste the opportunity. But it looks like they are going to make very good use of John, and it certainly livened up the show considerable.

  4. John Dixon was one of my favorite characters on the show years ago, so it's nice to see him back where he belongs.

  5. I am so delighted to see the return of Dr. John Dixon. He has such a complex history with Kim and the Hughes family. This is one thing CBS really did right. I also loved the comments referring yesterday to Kim and John's son, Andy. I wished he could have been available, too. Scott DeFreitas is a wonderful actor as well.
