NEWS: Tina Sloan, A Martinez, Crystal Chappell, 3D TV

Tina Sloan on Huffington Post: Christmas Trees And GUIDING LIGHT Memories
"Though GUIDING LIGHT chronicles the American scene, Love was our viewer's favorite topic and the one, we as actors, enjoyed playing the most. And one of my favorite facts was that NONE of the actors or producers or crew were divorced. Why? I think because we all got the drama of our lives out in pretend."

INTERVIEW: VENICE producer/star Crystal Chappell

A Martinez would love to return to Llanview
“I share the enthusiasm of the fans you cite regarding the compelling nature of the relationship between Dorian and Ray,” Martinez said. “Though Ray was not among the most easily accessible of characters, there was a sense as time passed in the storytelling that Dorian might be the one person who could break him free. And it’s true, as you so eloquently describe it, that his vision of her power was very clear, and his respect for her enormous. In that sense, I suppose you could say that Ray’s feelings for Dorian mirror my own feelings for Robin.

“I’ve worked with many a fine actress in the course of my journey, but none more remarkable than Ms. Strasser. Brilliant and utterly brave, with the work ethic of a warrior. I would love to come back and work with her again.”

Broadcast Revenue Down 23% In Q3
Total broadcast television ad revenue was around $8.8 billion in the third quarter, a 22.6% freefall from the same quarter last year. Syndication was off 7.2%, network TV was off 21.5%, and local television slid a whopping 28.1%, according to the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB). Local broadcast was up against robust third quarter numbers in 2008, due to political spending.

Joe Manganiello making a return appearance on ONE TREE HILL
The actor, whose career got a monster-sized boost earlier this week when he was cast as werewolf Alcide on TRUE BLOOD, has signed on to reprise his role as Brooke’s alcoholic ex, Owen, on ONE TREE HILL for an episode.

3D TV at home gets more real, but still needs those glasses
The Blu-ray Disc Assn. announced it had reached agreement on the long-awaited standard that allows for full 1080p viewing of 3D movies on home TVs. Blu-ray disc players that use the standard will actually be delivering two images, each in full resolution, to create the effect.
