Ben Silverman Leaving NBC

Ben Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment, who is consider the man who kept FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on the air, is leaving the company. Silverman will leave in the fall to start a new venture with Barry Diller’s media and Internet company, IAC. Jeff Gaspin, the head of NBC Universal’s cable operations, will take over Mr. Silverman’s role as head of the entertainment division.

  1. To bad he couldn't fidn a way to renew "Kings" before leaving NBC. For someone who had a hand in creating some great programs, like "Ugly Betty," Silverman also shepherded terrible shows like "Bionic Woman" and "Knight Rider."

    Ultimately, I say thank you Ben for bring a great program or two like "Kings" and "Friday Night Lights" to television. Good luck in your next endeavor.
