Revealing Robin Strasser Interview

TV Guide Canada has just published a fascinating interview with Daytime Emmy winner Robin Strasser. Strasser started her soap career as Iris on THE SECRET STORM followed by a stint as the original Rachel on ANOTHER WORLD. She later played Christina on ALL MY CHILDREN before joining the cast of ONE LIFE TO LIVE as Dorian in 1979.

Since that time Strasser's Dorian has been one of soap's best divas and she has always been outspoken in her thoughts on the soap industry and her show.

In this interview with Nelson Branco, Strasser talks about her stint on PASSIONS, Ron Carlivati's verson of Dorian and much more.

On the scene in which Dorian performed oral sex on David:
It was my idea! I know there was some fuss on the Internet, but it was all me. We had cryptic material in the script noting how Dorian was doing a variety of things that cause David to chant and moan.

On actors like Susan Lucci taking paycuts and big stars being fired:
I had a huge pay cut six years ago, so I don’t think anyone should whine. I think it was TV Guide’s Michael Logan who said, “no one should bring Susan a casserole; she doesn’t need it.” [Laughs] This is the good part — a soap creates 1000 jobs in New York City. Agnes Nixon is responsible for all these jobs, thanks to the soaps she created that are still in production. I took a healthy pay cut, and I was happy to be taking one for the team.
