Actor Paul Benedict dies at 70
Paul Benedict, the actor who played the English neighbor Harry Bentley on the sitcom THE JEFFERSONS, died Dec. 1 on Martha's Vineyard in Mass. He was 70. He appeared on GUIDING LIGHT in 1999 as Mr. Pratt.

Heather Locklear: "I Learned Some Hard Lessons" This Year
In her first television interview since her September DUI arrest, Heather Locklear admits the past year has been "rough."

"I am really looking forward to 2009," she said on Wednesday's TONIGHT SHOW while promoting her new Lifetime movie, Flirting With 40. "There's, like, three weeks left - I'll stay in my house."

On Nov. 17, the actress, 47, was formally charged with driving under the influence of drugs in connection with her arrest. (If convicted, she faces up to six months in county jail.) She also completed four weeks of treatment for anxiety and depression in July.

"I've been better, but I'm good today," she told Jay Leno.

Layoffs Gut Hollywood Reporter; Variety's Stylephile Victim Of Recession
Nikki Finke has been given names from today's tragic bloodletting of The Hollywood Reporter's staff. The trade has not only been thin, but only publishing digital version 19 days this holiday season. "It's really bad. They've moved beyond cutting bone to shaving off gristle. I'll be surprised if the print publication makes it all the way through 2009," an insider tells Finke.
