CORRIE bans Christmas
CORRIE chiefs have caused uproar by replacing festive turkey with a Polish Christmas dinner. Millions will tune in to see Weatherfield locals abandon Brit seasonal fare for 12 courses of east European-style grub.
To add insult to injury, STREET fans will even see their favorite characters join in an awful rendition of classic carol Silent Night in Polish.
Patriotic members of the English Democrats slammed the move and chairman Robin Tilbrook said: “I don’t have a problem with Polish characters enjoying a Polish Christmas, but having the English characters taking part is just a token gesture – yet more PC madness.”
Maslen "too hungover for honeymoon"
EASTENDERS actor Scott Maslen has revealed that he missed his own honeymoon because of a hangover. The 33-year-old and wife Estelle Rubio woke up late on the day they were meant to travel to Paris and decided to cancel their break.
He told The Sun: "We had a really big day and we woke up late. We were supposed to be getting the train from St Pancras but we felt so tired we decided not to bother. We only had five days so decided not to spent two days travelling. Instead, we stayed in the hotel, stayed in bed and ordered room service for five days - it was brilliant. We had a wonderful time."
OLTL's Andrea Evans Is Out
After a six-month stint as Tina, Andrea Evans finished taping at ONE LIFE TO LIVE last week. "There was always an understanding that it would be short term," Evans tells Digest. "I didn't know how this was going to affect my own personal life with having to do so much traveling, and I'm in a situation where I can't relocate." Meanwhile, the show released the following statement to dispel any rumors: "ABC and ONE LIFE TO LIVE were thrilled to have Andrea Evans reprise the role of Tina Lord after 18 years. Her return was made possible with the understanding that it would be short term as Ms. Evans' life, family and home are on the west coast. OLTL did not ask that she move across the country in order for her to return to the show." However, both Evans and Executive Producer Frank Valentini say the door is open for Evans to reprise the role. "The character of Tina is a very important part of the OLTL canvas and when there is an opportunity to have her (Tina and Andrea) return at a future date, the show would be happy to explore it."
ABC gives up SINGLE life
It's a no-go for ABC's midseason series SINGLE WITH PARENTS. ABC and ABC Studios on Wednesday pulled the plug on the comedy over creative differences with the show's producing team, led by creator/executive producer Kristin Newman. The show starred Alyssa Milano and former DAYS OF OUR LIVES actor Eric Winter.
